Quarter 2- Real or Imagined?
This second quarter's thematic unit actually consists . The "Real or Imagined?" literary study will
begin and focus on the concepts of mood and
tone. Traditionally, this is the "scary stories" unit where we examine how mood
and tone affect the reader's perception of a literary work. We will focus on
Edgar Allan Poe as a fictional author and also--in our nonfiction study--examine
strange occurrences at Poe's grave site as well as look at the origins of Mary
Shelley's Frankenstein.
